I said that "I think" Ballard is better than Weckle. But that does not mean YOU have to think the same thing as me. The traits that I look for in a drummer don't consist too much of chops, but more of musicality. And I think Ballard is more musical than weckle, and that's why I think he is better. You can like whoever you like, and I'll like whoever I like. I made my original comment on this page because Ballard isn't as popular as Weckle, but I think people should know about him too.

Show me this jazz musician ranking system you have developed that allows you to say objectively that Ballard is better than Weckl. (And you of course you must mean he is always better, right?)

You said I was immature because I said that one drummer is better than the other, and you said that at that level, "no one is better than another!" And if no drummer is better than another, the only way this could be true is if they are perfect musicians. And as I stated, they are NOT perfect, and therefore one of them IS better. And I thought that Jeff Ballard was better than Weckl. And you got on my case, saying I was ignorant because I didn't think they were both equal.

Just because they're really good, it doesn't mean that they can no longer be compared to eachother. They're NOT all on equal levels. Excepting that a musician is perfect and flawless is just dumb. There will always be room for improvement, no matter how good.

You've just exposed your musical Immaturity jazzmessenger8!!!!???which is kind of sad,since you seem to havesome sort of knowledge of how to attain"touch"on the instrument!... When your at the levelof the two musicians you've just mentioned there is "NO ONE BETTER THAN ANOTHER".!!!!!
