I downloaded Rachmaninov's song after having heard of "All By Myself's" derivation from it, and now have a lot more respect for classical music. I can also say that I really respect his lyrics because they come from the heart. And remember this: Eric Carmen produced some of his most excellent songs without deriving them from classical composers! (Bet he has some more up his sleeve, too.)

You are wrong... was Beethoven who copied Eric Carmen (in some travel in time)... later was Rachmaninov who copied Beethoven, this was taken from a manuscript which is kept hidden by Rachmaninov family. Happily was discovered by Oliver Stone.
