Create Custom Logos


Manipulate custom shape to create your own custom shape and using it as a logo

Select custom shape tool (U). Select ornament 3 shape from the preset fly out menu from the options bar at the top.

 

Press shift and drag on the canvas area to create a uniform size shape.

Select direct selecton tool and click on the shape. Select the corner nodes, right click and select delete anchor point. repeat the step to delete nodes from all the four corners.

Simillarly delete the inner border too.

Select custom shape tool (U). Enable exclude overlapping shape areas from the top bar. Select ornament 4 shape from the preset fly out menu from the options bar at the top.

Press shift and darg on the previous shape. Make sure it's big enough to cover the whole shape and infact should go beyond the boundaries of the previous shape.

Using Direct Selection tool, select the anchor point shown below
Press right arrow key 3-4 times from your keyboard to move the anchor point.
Repeat the steps for the other anchor points as shown below.

 

Now again select anchors points shown below.

Press down arrow key from your keyboard.
Repeat these steps for the other three triangles.

Now we are happy with the way our custom shape has turned out. In next step we'll define it as a custom shape.
The benefit of defining it as a custom shape is that we can use it any time without applying all the steps mentioned before. Besides since custom shapes are vectors, they are scaleable to any height and width without reducing pixel quality.

Select Edit >> Define Custom Shape...

Name the shape as per your choice.
Create a new file.

Select custom shape tool (U). Select shape1 ( this is the shape that we just created and defined) shape from the preset fly out menu from the options bar at the top.
Drag it on your artboard and fill it with pink color.

Press Ctrl+T. Right Click and select perspective. Adjust the nodes as shown.

Press Ctrl+J to duplicate the layer. Press Ctrl+T. Right click and select Flip Vertical and place as shown.
Now select the duplicate layer and goto Layer >> Rasterize >> Shape.
Press Add layer mask from layer pallete.
Select the gradient tool.
Select a black to white gradient and enable the linear mode.
Drag gradient tool downward to upward as shown.
Select Horizontal Type Text Tool.
Type text using a nice font to complete the logo.
